Price and Value
It only makes sense to begin this comparison with a look at Jetta pricing. With a starting price of $23,995, the Jetta SE is one of the most affordable new cars on the road today. But this entry-level edition is well equipped, not stripped down. The SEL is the top of the standard Jetta range, with an MSRP of $29,995, while the intermediate Sport and SE strike a balance between features and price. The GLI, available in a sole trim package called Autobahn, commands a higher initial price of $34,200 and shares many of the non-performance amenities (such as a panoramic moonroof, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front seats) with the SEL. Compared to the SEL, the GLI’s higher window sticker mostly reflects an upgraded engine, advanced suspension, and sportier features, resulting in a noticeably more dynamic driving experience.
