2025 Volkswagen Tiguan

Volkswagen has reinvented its best-selling Tiguan for the 2025 model year, ushering in a new era for the fan favorite. This reimagined compact crossover touts enhanced performance, innovative tech, and sharper looks to kick off its third generation.

Under the hood, the new Tiguan boasts a revamped turbocharged engine, generating 201 horsepower – that’s 17 more ponies than its predecessor. It also gets a facelift, with a higher nose, slimmer headlights, and a more athletic profile. The 2025 Tiguan is also the first built on VW’s updated MQB evo platform, with a shorter rear overhang and a slightly longer wheelbase. This North American version of the Tiguan has ditched the third row, subtracting curb weight and adding cabin and cargo space.

On the inside, an upgraded infotainment system offers either a standard 12.9- or available 15-inch multimedia screen, nearly double the size of last model year’s 6.5- and 8-inch screens. This is paired with the debut of VW’s latest comfort feature, the "Atmospheres" system, which synchronizes ambient lighting with audio to create an immersive cabin vibe that transforms the driving experience. These improvements are complemented by a simpler design and a new column-mounted gear selector that makes the console less cluttered. As mentioned, this latest iteration no longer has a third-row seating option. That factor combined with increased use of lightweight materials, like aluminum suspension components and high-strength steel, helps it shed roughly 170 pounds]. The reduced mass, coupled with the extra horsepower, provides drivers with an improvement in both performance and efficiency. Like all 2025 Volkswagens, the new Tiguan is backed by the automaker’s four-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage and covered by VW’s Scheduled Carefree Maintenance program, providing complimentary standard servicing for two years or 20,000 miles.
