Pre-Order the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan
Pre-Order 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan
Volkswagen is about to launch an all-new version of its best-seller, the Tiguan, for the 2025 model
year. This exciting rebirth will kick off the third generation for the compact crossover and its
first year being built on the updated MQB evo platform. Sneak-peek photos of the new Tiguan show a
higher front end, slimmer headlights, and a more athletic profile with pronounced shoulder lines.
The platform updates include a shorter rear overhang and slightly longer wheelbase, contributing to
a more spacious cabin while moving to an exclusive two-row configuration for North America. In
addition, the interior adopts a cleaner design approach centered around new digital displays and
better storage solutions, thanks to a column-mounted gear selector that frees up console
space.
The 2025 Tiguan blends technology with practicality through an upgraded infotainment
system and new comfort features. Weight reduction of approximately 170 pounds came from removal of
the third-row seating and increased use of lightweight materials, including aluminum suspension
components and high-strength steel. Meanwhile, a more powerful engine and reduced vehicle mass
improves performance and efficiency.
Like all 2025 Volkswagens, the new Tiguan will be backed by the company’s extensive
four-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage. Customers will also benefit from VW’s
Scheduled Carefree Maintenance program providing complimentary standard servicing for two years or
20,000 miles.
Trims and Powertrains
The 2025 Tiguan will feature a revised 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 201 horsepower – a 17-horsepower increase over its predecessor. While the trim range hasn’t been announced yet, the current Tiguan's hierarchy of S, SE, and SEL and available R-Line appearance variants suggests a similar lineup for 2025. Front-wheel drive will likely remain standard, with 4Motion all-wheel drive available on most trims. Fuel economy ratings are also forthcoming.
Standard Features
The amenities found on every ’25 Tiguan trim will include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, heated front seats, and wireless device charging. Base trims will ride on 17-inch aluminum wheels, while higher grades will offer 19- or 20-inch wheels. Available upgrades will include a power tailgate, quilted leather upholstery, 12-way power front seats (heated and ventilated) with massage, a heated steering wheel, heated rear outboard seats, three-zone climate control, walnut interior trim, customizable ambient cabin lighting, and a front LED light bar with an illuminated VW logo.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
Volkswagen will equip every 2025 Tiguan with IQ.DRIVE, the automaker’s Level 2 driver assistance suite. The standard version will include Travel Assist for semi-automated driving, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Emergency Assist (technology that can stop the vehicle if the driver is unresponsive). Additional standard safety elements will include automatic high beams, parking sensors, and exit warning. Park Assist Plus, semi-autonomous parking support, will be optional on select trims.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The Tiguan's infotainment interface will start with a standard 12.9-inch touchscreen, upgradeable to a 15-inch display on higher trims. Both systems will feature wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, while a center-console-mounted rotary controller will be used to manage the volume and other functions. The available upgrades will include a head-up display, customizable ambient lighting, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. VW is also debuting its "Atmospheres" option, which synchronizes ambient lighting with audio to create different cabin moods.
